The Final Four of Teamliquid StarLeague fought for two spots in the Grand Final last weekend! With glory and big money at stake the remaining players played passionately and produced some amazing games. For the official news posts of NonY against IefNaij and Mondragon against Sen, be sure to have a look here and here respectively. In other StarCraft news, the final week of ICCup Clanleague has concluded and the playoff spots have been determined. The European team DuskBin finished the regular season in first place, managing to beat both of their strongest competitors: Mousesports and Templars of Twilight. In the last week, though, the Templars beat Mousesports, showing that the playoffs will be closely fought! GosuGamers has provided a full recap of these playoffs on their website.

The Stars War European qualifiers playoff brackets are in, with some of the best European players facing off from February 25. Make sure to follow this interesting tournament! Finally, following a nail-biting final, the "King of Orcs", aka EG.Grubby, out-mirrored South Korean Eom “FoCuS” HyoSub to win the 125th edition of the ZOTAC-Cup.

The American Terran player Greg “IdrA” Fields has been crowned as the ESL Major Series Season 5 champion after vanquishing the Ukrainian player Eugin "Strelok" Oparyshev in an all-Terran final. In other news, the team-based International Cyber Cup has just reached week eight, and Gosu Gamers has presented an overview of the past and upcoming weeks. Team Liquid StarLeague continues with a lot of interesting matches in the 'Round of 16'. The South Korean Night Elf player Sung Sik "ReMinD" Kim battled to victory in the 122nd edition of the weekly ZOTAC-Cup organized by Gamesports.net. In the final he beat last week's champion: Human player Mihaylo “KaS” Hayda from Ukraine. Finally, the fourth edition of the prestigious Stars War tournament will be starting soon. With the unveiling of the European player list for the qualifiers, Gosu Gamers has provided a run down on the participants.

The groups for the World Championship Finals of the Intel Extreme Masters Season 4 have now been drawn. The Electronic Sports League also revealed their groups for the upcoming Asian Championship finals, which will take place in Taipei, Taiwan from February 5th – 9th. Season 34 of one of the oldest StarCraft leagues, the BWCL, ended this weekend. After eleven weeks of play, the mousesports team finished first with 55 points, 9 points ahead of second-placed NrT. Third and fourth places went to the American team 'pandemic' and the Polish team of 'ZZZ' respectively. For the full recap and an interview with the winning team's captain, check Gosu Gamers.

4 The Chinese player Xuwen 'InFi' Wang and his army of Humans battled to victory during an intense final in the Trophy of Legends against the South Korean Orc player Eom 'FoCuS' HyoSub with a result of 3-2. InFi therefore claimed the trophy and 2,250€ prize money, with FoCuS settling for the 1,125€ runner-up prize. In the consolation final, Hong 'FarSeer' WonUi managed to grab third place after defeating Chun 'Sweet' JungHee in a close match by the same score of 3-2. Also in the weekly ZOTAC-Cup edition #121 the Ukrainian Human player Mihail "Kas" Hayda emerged victorious by defeating the South Korean Orc player Kim "ViOlet" DongHwan to become this week's champion.

SK-Gaming's strong presence in World of Warcraft grows even stronger with the announcement of a new Korean team. The Named League Season 3 champions Cohex are now fighting under the flag of SK Korea. In other news, the tournament series "Shadowleague -- Trophy of Legends" continues and the Chinese Human player Xuwen "Infi" Wang and the South Korean Orc player Eom "FoCuS" HyoSub both qualified for the Grand Final. Finally, in an interview with Fragster.de, the former pro gamer and 2003 World Cyber Games winner Zdravko "Insomnia" Georgiev talks about his eSports career and his thoughts on the future of eSports.

Last weekend the European Championship of the Intel Extreme Masters Season IV concluded in Cologne, Germany. Not only were the eight qualified teams competing for the "European Champion" title, there was also $15,000 in prize money and five spots at the Global Finals up for grabs. In a nail-biting final, the German team SK Sansibar (playing death knight, paladin and warrior) claimed victory by defeating the rogue, mage, priest line-up fielded by Team Dignitas. SK-Gaming EU, Spanish team x6tence and iNNERFIRE were runners-up in third, fourth, and fifth places respectively. All VODs of the tournament are available now at ESL TV. The first round of the TSL 2 qualifications is over and GosuGamers have prepared a summary of the results. In a grand showdown, the Major League Gaming 2009 PC Pro Circuit concluded in Orlando, USA with the final tour stop last weekend. The top four teams from the 2009 regular season gathered to compete for the "2009 MLG PC Circuit Champions" title and $15,000 prize money. In the final match, the American team of complexity Black defeated their clan mates complexity Red 3-0. The South Korean team Button Bashers and the mixed team of SK-Gaming US and Evil Geniuses ended up third and fourth respectively. It might be cold outside, but the heat is still on! Team Liquid StarLeague (TSL) is entering its qualifying stage and 48 players are still battling each other in this remarkable tournament. TeamLiquid recently announced the detailed schedule, rules, and map pool for these qualifiers. One of the highlights of this phase will be the clash between two Americans: Terran player Greg "IdrA" Fields and Protoss player Tyler "NonY" Wasieleski. In other news, the qualification rounds for Season V of the ESL Major Series have finished and the competition now moves into the playoff phase.

4 The one hundred eighteenth edition of the popular weekly ZOTAC-Cup ended in triumph for the South Korean Kim "ReMinD" SungSik. In an all-Night-Elf final he claimed victory over the South Korean Lee "Check" HyeongJu. The relegation matches of the sixteenth season of the prestigious team league WC3L have been announced, and a lot of well-known teams are involved. These matches will decide who advances to the next stage of this exciting tournament. Also, the sign-ups for the Warcraft International Premiership (WCIP) have opened, after the league secured its future as part of the ESL Major Series.

The two groups for the European Championship Finals for Intel Extreme Masters Season IV have now been announced. These finals will be held in Cologne, Germany between January 14 and 17, and streamed live by ESL TV. Elsewhere, the team formerly known as GODMODE will now be competing under the banner of the multi-gaming clan Team Dignitas. In addition, Michael "Zechs" Radford from SK-Gaming is back with his first Zechs Files of 2010 where he takes a look at the upcoming Major League Gaming finals in Orlando, USA and asks if anyone can beat the Korean team "Button Bashers."

The American Championship of the Intel Extreme Masters Season IV concluded this weekend in Edmonton, Canada. CheckSix Gaming triumphed over SK Gaming USA in the finals, leaving Fnatic.WoW in third place. Besides the title "American Champion" and a nifty amount of prize money, four teams qualified for the Global Finals where they will clash with the respective Champions of Asia and Europe. In the weekly ZOTAC-Cup #113 the South Korean orc player DongHwan "viOlet" Kim triumphed by defeating SeungHyun "Space" Park, the undead player from South Korea.
