The Cybernetics Core provides upgrades for Air Weapons and Armor and the Singularity Charge Upgrade for increasing the Dragoon attack range. In addition, once the Cybernetics Core is constructed, the Gateway can begin production of Dragoons. The Cybernetics Core is also the key structure needed to proceed into the advanced tech tree of Protoss technology.
