The World Gaming Tour (WGT) is an organization that runs StarCraft ladders and tournaments on the Battle.net game network through its Web site. (http://www.wgtour.com)
What servers will I be able to play WGT ladder games on?
The WGT templates are supported only on the Battle.net Europe gateway.
Where's the old StarCraft ladder?
The old StarCraft ladder has been disabled. The collaboration with the WGT that is described in this FAQ will be replacing the old StarCraft ladder system.
Will the WGT be the only league allowed to run StarCraft's ladder?
Battle.net is currently set up to interface with the WGT's ladder system only. However, we may add support for other externally-operated ladders in the future on either the Europe gateway or on the other Battle.net gateways.
What features does WGT add beyond the old ladder?
WGT has support for clans, tournaments, nation wars, replays, and user-submitted content.
I have problems or questions about the new WGT ladder. Will Blizzard Tech Support help me?
Blizzard Tech Support will not be able to help with questions or concerns regarding the WGT ladder. For more information on the WGT ladder and for user-to-user support, please visit the WGT's support forum here. Please only contact Blizzard Tech Support for Battle.net or game-specific issues.
Why has Blizzard chosen to discontinue hosting the StarCraft ladder system?
We have decided to partner with the WGT to handle the operation and maintenance of the StarCraft ladder system, as they have proven themselves to be an asset to the competitive gaming community. Working with the WGT allows for the continuation of an official ladder system for our core StarCraft players while at the same time enabling our Battle.net team to focus on other aspects of Battle.net.
