Match One
Players:
:+:jolly:+: - ZERG - Aqua - Left Bottom
Kain-The-Feared - ZERG (Random) - Brown - Bottom
Match Time:

|
Although both players ended up commanding Zerg Broods, Kain-The-Feared tempted fate by selecting Random at the start of the
game. And what a game it was as -- amazingly enough -- neither player had ever played on this map! Each player quickly
scouts out other with their Overlords, and :+:jolly:+: takes advantage of the geographical situation and rushes in with
Zerglings. This lightening strike hurts Kain-The-Feared and interrupts his resource gathering. Having struck an early
blow, :+:jolly:+: takes the time to build up to Mutalisks and Scourge and proceeds to initiate his "Overlord Denial"
strategy. As :+:jolly:+: systematically slays the ponderous Overlords using Scourge, Kain-The-Feared is thrown off guard as
he is unable to hatch new units to defend his Hive Cluster. This allows :+:jolly:+: to move in for the kill with his
Mutalisks and take the victory in game one.

Kain-The-Feared - PROTOSS - Purple - Right Middle

Leaving nothing to chance, Kain-The-Feared elects to take the Protoss into battle and starts off the game by trying for a
Reaver drop. Kain-The-Feared send the ominous message,” …I know where you are…”, after he spots :+:jolly:+:’s first Overlord.
Kain-The-Feared know that effective use of Reavers in the beginning of a game on an island map is a devastating tactic as he
loads up his Shuttle and sends it in for the kill. It looks like :+:jolly:+: is going to loose this one quickly, but in a
odd turn of events, Kain-The-Feared send the shuttle the wrong way! He realizes he is in deep trouble when the Shuttle gets
to the opposite side of the map and there is no :+:jolly:+: to be found. This gives :+:jolly:+: a reprieve and a much needed
window of opportunity. Kain-The-Feared has spent his resources climbing up the tech tree to get to Reavers while :+:jolly:+:
has focused on creating Mutalisks. As the Protoss shuttles desperately search for their intended target, :+:jolly:+: sends in
a force of Mutalisks and five Overlords filled with Hydralisks! But, in yet another surprise, Kain-The-Feared is prepared as
his High Templars destroy :+:jolly:+:’s entire incoming force with Psionic Storm. Both early strikes have proved fruitless,
so both players expand. Although Kain-The-Feared's base is eventually overrun by the Zerg, he is able to rebuild the base as
he continues to drop Reavers and Templars into all of :+:jolly:+:’s expansions. In an attempt to end the game, :+:jolly:+:
sends in a huge force of eight Overlords filled to the brim with Hydralisks. Kain-The-Feared uses precise unit
micro-management to stop them with his High Templars and Reavers. This final push is more than :+:jolly:+: can handle,
resource wise, and Kain-The-Feared turns the tables and destroys :+:jolly:+:. Kain-The-Feared is victorious to force a
third game.

It is Zerg against Protoss in the deciding game of the round between these two fierce competitors. Kain-The-Feared sends
a probe to scout out the map and soon runs through :+:jolly:+:’s base. This can mean only one thing -- Zealots are on the
way. Kain-The-Feared builds two Gateways and starts to warp in Zealots at an alarming rate. :+:jolly:+: shows his experience
buy blocking the ramp to his town with Zerglings. This completely stop Kain-The-Feared’s Zealots and his plans for a quick
win. :+:jolly:+: sneaks a Drone out in the confusion and manages to build an expansion. :+:jolly:+: then starts to play a
game of cat and mouse with Kain-The-Feared’s forces. First, he sends in small groups to distract the defending Templars
while simultaneously moving to deny Kain-The-Feared of much needed resources. This tactic cuts Kain-The-Feared deeply as
he needs those extra resources to pay for his Templars and Reavers. Knowing that he cannot sustain his forces without a
proper economy, Kain-The-Feared makes a desperate attack on one of :+:jolly:+:’s expansions. :+:jolly:+: is ready, however,
and already has another expansion started. While Kain-The-Feared is focused on the annihilation of :+:jolly:+:’s expansion
site, :+:jolly:+: sends in a group of Guardians to slaughter Kain-The-Feared who realizes too late, "...I forgot to make
Templars :)..." . Without the devastating Psi Storm of the High Templars to defend the main base, the Guardians do what they
do best -- Destroy everything. Even after his main base is gone, Kain-The-Feared never gives up. He tries to rebuild from
scratch, but :+:jolly:+: is relentless in his pursuit of victory and finds the new base. Its game, set, and match as
:+:jolly:+: advances to the next round.
