FAQ

How is Season 4 different from previous seasons of Warcraft III competition on Battle.net?

Season 4 will consist of three new ladders -- one each for the Americas, Europe, and Asia.

Who will play on these new ladders?

Blizzard will invite 25 of the top players from each region and combine them with the top 100 ranked players from their respective ladders. The top 50 in each of the Lordaeron and Azeroth realms will comprise the 100 ranked ladder players from the Americas. This will result in 125 players per ladder.

How will Blizzard be choosing invited players?

Players will be chosen based on previous tournament performance.

What if a player whom Blizzard invites is also part of the top 100 on his or her regional ladder?

In this case, we will continue to invite players until the 125-player limit is met.

What is different about these new ladders?

There are no restrictions on who can play whom. This means the #1-ranked player could play the #125-ranked player.

How long will the season run?

The season is scheduled to run for two months. Then there will be three offline regional qualifier events, which will feed into a Global Finals event.

Who will go to the regional qualifiers?

The top 16 ranked players from the Americas Ladder and the top 20 from the Europe and Asia ladders will be invited to their respective regional qualifier events.

Why does the Americas ladder only get the top 16?

The resulting representation of players with this formula best reflects the current global landscape of competitive Warcraft III players.

Where will the regional qualifiers and Global Finals be held?

More information about the regional qualifiers and Global Finals will be announced at a later date.

Will there be a ladder reset for Season 4?

No.

Is there a patch for Season 4?

Not at this time.

How do I play a Season 4 game?

Log into Battle.net with your account and click the Play Game button. In the Game Type dropdown menu, there will be a Season 4 game type. Choose that and play.

I was in the top 50 on Lordaeron, how do I play on the Season 4 ladder?

Due to technical issues we will need you to post in this forum thread with the appropriate top 50 Lordaeron account. We will then flag your account on the Azeroth realm for Season 4.
