Cheating and Tournament Officiating
Cheating will not be tolerated in the Brood War Tournament. In the event that a Brood War Tournament Official has
determined that a player has engaged in cheating, punishment is the immediate resetting of any player's ranking
on the Brood War Tournament Ladder and/or the disqualification of the player from the Brood War Tournament. Cheating
includes, but is not limited to, use of bots or proxies during a game, use of cheat utilities during a game, ping
flooding, hacking the ranking system, playing under another player's screen name or abusing the ladder system for
the purpose of padding a player's ranking or any violation of the rules as set forth herein.
Suspicion of cheating or attempts to defraud Blizzard Entertainment, its sponsors and/or other competitors on the
part of any player may, and most likely will, result in the player being disqualified and any prize awards may be
forfeited.
Brood War Tournament Officials, Blizzard Entertainment staff or its designee will oversee and manage all events
and operations related to the Brood War Tournament. Brood War Tournament Officials can be identified by the
Blizzard icon in front of their screen names and may serve as Referees, Match Observers or Game Recorders.
Brood War Tournament Officials will be the ultimate judges on all issues related to the Brood War Tournament.
ALL DECISIONS MADE BY THE BROOD WAR TOURNAMENT OFFICIALS ARE FINAL.
If You Have a Problem with a Player
If you are the victim of abusive behavior, suspect a player of abusing the Battle.net ladder system or suspect a
player of cheating, we ask that you do a few things to help us resolve the issues.
If another player's behavior is annoying or if it is abusive, you should make your best efforts to avoid that
person. Use Battle.net's /squelch command to block the player's chat text. Also, if you feel comfortable doing so,
ask the player to stop communicating with you and/or bothering you.
If you suspect a player of abusing the Battle.net ladder system, please report the suspected ladder abuses to
the Battle.net Ladder Discussion Forum at

Results
Upon the completion of a Regular Season Tournament, Brood War Tournament Officials will review the rankings data
and the Starcraft: Brood War Ladders before making any public announcement of the qualifiers for each Regular
Season Finals. Thereafter, the names of the winners will be posted on Blizzard's web page located at
http://www.blizzard.com.
Speed of Play
In the interest of all involved, participants should make their best efforts to play without any unnecessary delay. All
players are encouraged to come to their matches early and be prepared to play. All hardware, software and Internet
connections should be tested by the player prior to starting or joining any game. Players will forfeit any match for
which they do not show up at the scheduled time. Regardless of what decision is made by the Brood War Tournament
Officials, players are expected to display good sportsmanship.
